I have only ever seen the show “Girls” twice. I thought it was pretty entertaining, very original and if I had a TV I would have watched it on a more regular basis, along with all the other must see TV shows…..which is why I don’t have a TV! I’m like a moth to a flame with television, unable to resist the beautiful trance inducing flicker I watch as hours of my life disappear into the entertainment vortex and I’m left feeling rather empty! A Time Warner Cable lady once got so exasperated when I kept refusing a cable plan, that she finally hollered, ” well what do you do with yourself if you don’t have a TV?!!” Exactly, I replied! Anyways, luckily most people love a bit of ‘telly’, which has helped make “Girls” one of the number one shows on TV. Of what I saw, I thought all the characters were pretty raw and brilliant, but the one that intrigued me the most was Jemima Kirk‘s character, Jessa. Sexy and beautiful she had this air of quiet confidence that teetered on arrogance, but most importantly she seemed effortless, which is exactly how her family friend and fellow “5 mins with Franny” contributor, actor Griffin Dunne, described her. Jemima has this innate skill of making acting seem effortless. It’s something all actors strive for, but rarely achieve.” With all this effortlessness and quiet confidence floating around, I have to admit I was rather intimidated to meet Jemima. Even though I’m about 5000 years older than her, I felt like the class nerd going around to hang out with the most popular girl in school! Thankfully,

my anxiety was short lived and Jemima was quick to make me feel at home. We bonded over heavily pregnant weddings, cute photos of our kids, how much they change your life and lamented the end of debaucherous nights out…That said, while I was there a pair of shoes were delivered, for her, from a designer who was more than keen she show up, that night, to her opening!
Jemima lives in a beautiful magical, floaty kind of world, in a beautiful house filled with children and fairy tales. It is of little wonder she does not want for much more. She is young, beautiful, sexy, talented and at ease with all of it. She enjoys acting, but feels no desire to avidly pursue it, if an interesting role should come her way she would take it, but her self worth does not depend on it. Her passion lies with painting and her family. Happiness for her is time spent sitting in her son‘s room breathing in his little life, or playing make believe with her daughter under the layers of colorful chiffon curtains that drape over her bed. Life here reminds me of something the Mad Hatter once said to Alice….. ” it’s always tea time here.” -

It would look like the inside of my wardrobe. With a flash light and a book. And a pillowBy day you are …..By night you are?
By day I am a person who sits at their computer answering questions like this. By night, someone who potters around the studio worrying that their paintings are shit. -
